Arch confraternity facts and figures

The Limerick confraternity was founded by the Redemptorist Fathers soon after their development in Mount St. Alphonsus, in 1867. On New Years Day, 1868 for men and boys and when the mission ended 8,000 men had received communion and 14,000 boys were confirmed.
In October 1936 the Arch confraternity out of the Redemptorist had the following members:
2,598 in the St. Johns Division,
2,246 in the St. Michaels Division,
2,242 in the St. Clements Division,
1,802 in the Boys Division.
Making a total off 8,888.
