St. John's Church, C. of I.
Originally the site of a medieval parish church, the present building was erected in 1843,
architect Joseph Welland, and is considered slightly hiberno-
romanesque in style.Now renovated and being used by the Daghdha dance

St. Michael's Church, C. of I.
St Michaels was consecrated in 1844, it is also known as "the sinking church" as it was not built on bed rock and has sunk ever so slightly over the years. The church replaced an older chuch St. George's on O'Connell Street, which was founded in 1789. More information on the parish can be found here top
St Munchin's, C. of I.
St. Munchins was built
in 1827 and renovated after falling in to disrepair by the civic trust
in the 1980's it is now used as a theatre by the Island Theatre

St John's Cathedral built on the site of St John's Chapel in 1856. It

The golden angel on the top of the 1880's St Michael's on Denmark
Street. St Michael's church was built on Denmark Street in 1779. Originally the site of a medieval parish church, dismantled after the Siege of 1651, in ruins by 1654. The parsish grave yard can be seen here top
St. Munchin's, R.C.
Situated on Clancy's Strand St. Munchin's was built in 1922 to replace older church of the same name. More information on the parish can be found here

The Augustinian R.C.
The Augustinian Church on situated on O'Connell Street. The front wall
contains the lintel from an older church found in Fish Lane dated 1633.
St. Patrick's, R.C.
St. Patrick's Catholic Church, built in 1816 on Clare Street and replaced the Penal Chapel. The original St Patricks Schools were at the rear of the church the school opened in 1865. More information on the parish (Clare section) can be found here
A fragment of the Penal Chapel which served St Patricks Parish between 1750 and 1816 it stood on Parkhill Rhebogue. After the building of St. Patricks Church the Penal Chapel was dismantled.
Construction began in 1815, this catholic church was designed by the Pain Brothers.More information on the parish can be found here top
Mount St. Alphonsus, R.C.
Also known as the Redemtorist. The building of this building began in 1858 but the tower was not completed until 1879. More information on this parish and community can be found on my statics page

Built in 1901 this building is no longer in religious use, the community relocated their church to Christ Church on O'Connell Street. top
The Baptist Church, B.
The Baptist Church on O'Connell Avenue was built in 1894. In 1994 the adjoining St. Joseph R.C. aquired the building as it's parish centre. top
